Two people. Eleven years in production, thirteen in code.
Tailop AB was registered in 2024 by Jonny Mauritzen and Andréas Forsbom. There are still two of us, deliberately: the person who makes the assessment is the person who builds it.
One of us has eleven years in manufacturing — machine operator, production planner, production coordinator and now controller, in the same industry throughout. The other has thirteen years as a developer and systems architect, from small product companies to systems used by tens of thousands of people daily.
The combination is the whole point. Someone who has stood at the machine knows where the time actually goes, and knows the difference between a problem worth engineering away and one that is merely annoying. Someone who has built and maintained systems for thirteen years knows what a shortcut costs three years later.
We were building our own tools with language models back in 2023, before there were any to buy. The technology itself is rarely the hard part. The hard part is knowing what to automate and what to leave alone.

How we work
- Solve it upstream
- The best fix often sits earlier in the chain than where the problem shows up. Sometimes that means proposing something cheaper than what you asked for.
- Small, running, today
- Something narrow that is genuinely used beats a large project due later. Whatever works, we build on.
- No lock-in
- Open formats, documented, possible to take over or move. We would rather stay because it is worth it than because you cannot leave.
- We say no
- If we do not think it will turn out well, we say so. Work nobody believes in rarely ends well for anyone.
